Papers concerning business negotiations of George Rust of Virginia and Alexander G. McNutt of Warren County, Mississippi, during the period 1835-1845, about the purchase of slaves and the indebtedness on McNutt's plantation in Warren County. Of special interest are the articles of agreement between McNutt and Rust on the purchase of a lot of slaves by McNutt, May 6, 1835. The other papers concern the financial difficulties incurred by McNutt in the operation of his plantation.
